Chapter 1
A sudden rainstorm hits a bustling marketplace, sending various locals scattering for cover. Amidst the mundane chaos of rushing servants, grumbling couriers, and unfazed pedestrians, a massive lightning strike heralds the inexplicable appearance of a highly disoriented newcomer.
A sudden downpour erupts in the bustling marketplace, catching its many inhabitants off guard and sending them scrambling for shelter. Mirium and Gerald take cover, with Mirium defending her actions as simply trying to stay dry rather than stealing. Meanwhile, Master Katagin is swiftly escorted into a carriage by his dedicated butler to protect him from the harsh weather and potential illness.
Other locals have varied reactions to the sudden storm. A disgruntled parcel carrier curses Fate as he desperately tries to shield a parchment-wrapped package from the rain. In contrast, a rosy-cheeked humming man in a canvas coat remains completely unfazed, cheerfully carrying a Lymir tune while getting drenched. Above the crowd, an agile girl bounds acrobatically across the marketplace's awning poles, playfully dodging the pedestrians below and mocking them for being afraid of a little water.
The chaotic but ordinary scene is suddenly interrupted by a massive, blinding lightning strike. When the flash clears, a mysterious and highly confused arrival is left standing in the marketplace. Disoriented and panicked, the newcomer loudly questions how they got there and where they are, setting the stage for an unfolding mystery.
