A species of tall, bipedal hyena-like humanoids covered in fur.
Gnolls are a tall species, with one hunter described as being six-foot-seven. They are covered in fur (e.g., chestnut-colored), have hyena-like features with poofy ears and angular faces, and dark brown eyes. They possess a powerful sense of smell, able to detect scents like rancid oil, goblins, dust, and mold on Erin Solstice from a distance. Their speech has a growling quality with a rolling 'r'. Gnolls are covered in fur, have hyena-shaped heads, a mane of darker hair, and flexible, furry paws. They possess an extremely powerful sense of smell, able to detect what a person has stepped in and old scents like blood and ash on their body.
Gnolls are a prominent species in Liscor, and Erin encounters several. She sees a tall hunter, observes them in the city, and is ultimately confronted and bullied by a hostile Gnoll adventurer in the Adventurer's Guild.
Represented by the shopkeeper Krshia and a guardsman, this species is a minority in Liscor and displays a similar aversion to Erin's smell as the Drakes.
Mentioned by Klbkch as one of the species that would not weep for a Goblin.
The Gnoll species is represented by a kind, tall female shopkeeper who supports Erin and by others in the crowd watching the chess game.
A Gnoll shopkeeper, Krshia, plays a major role, and the species' powerful sense of smell is demonstrated and discussed.
