Chapter 1.02
1.02
Driven by hunger, Erin Solstice discovers an orchard of edible fruit but is quickly chased back to The Wandering Inn by a group of Goblins. She is forced to defend herself and the inn, killing all seven attackers and leveling up as an [Innkeeper] before collapsing from her injuries.
Summary
Wracked with hunger, Erin Solstice cautiously ventured out of The Wandering Inn in search of food. She soon discovered an orchard of strange, peach-like fruits she identified as Amentus Fruit. After determining they were not monstrous or poisonous, she ate one and found it delicious, though she was disgusted by its hairy, inedible seed pod. While discarding a seed pod, she hit a Rock Crab, which panicked and began attacking itself, revealing a strange property of the seeds.
Erin's foraging was interrupted when she spotted a group of seven Goblins, led by a Goblin Chieftain, watching her from the trees. Panicked, she fled back towards the inn with the Goblins in hot pursuit. She managed to get inside and bar the door just in time, but her relief was short-lived as the Goblins began smashing the window shutters to get inside.
The Goblins broke through, and a desperate fight for survival began in the inn's common room. Unarmed, Erin used a wooden chair as a weapon, fighting with pure adrenaline. She sustained several cuts on her legs and a wound to her stomach but managed to kill each Goblin one by one, including a memorable one she dubbed Injured Crotch and the Littlest Goblin, who hesitated before attacking.
After killing the final Goblin, the Goblin Chieftain, Erin was notified that she had gained experience and reached [Innkeeper] Level 4. Exhausted and wounded from the battle, she collapsed onto the floor of the common room amidst the bodies and wreckage.
