Chapter 1.19 R
An anti-social, barefoot runner arrives in the city of Celum to report a monster threat and complete a delivery. She visits the lavish estate of the eccentric noblewoman Magnolia Reinhart, where she successfully secures her payment seal. At the chapter's conclusion, the runner is revealed to be Ryoka Griffin, a young woman originally from Earth.
An unnamed, barefoot runner arrives at the independent city-state of Celum after a difficult journey. At the city gates, she encounters Wesle, a young Guardsman of the Watch. The runner urgently reports a threat on the road involving a Goblin group led by a Hobgoblin. Wesle attempts to handle the report, highlighting the logistical challenges between the local Watch and the Adventurer's Guild in dealing with monstrous threats like Carn Wolves and Creler.
After dealing with the guards, the runner proceeds to her actual destination: Magnolia Reinhart's Mansion. The estate is incredibly wealthy, and the runner is escorted inside to meet Lady Magnolia Reinhart, a cheerful Human noblewoman famous for her eccentric obsession with the color pink. Magnolia is accompanied by her stern, spectacle-wearing Head Maid, Ressa. During the meeting, Magnolia casually offers the runner a glass of Amentus Wine, a highly expensive beverage famously distilled from poison.
The runner completes her delivery, handing over her missive and receiving a Runner Seal in return, which guarantees her payment. Throughout the interaction, the runner's internal monologue reveals her highly cynical and anti-social nature, as well as her frustration with rival runners like Persua.
As the chapter concludes, the narrative officially reveals the unnamed runner's identity as Ryoka Griffin. It is also disclosed that she is not originally from Izril, but rather from the USA on Earth, and she still considers New York to be the greatest city in the world.

“Hobgoblin? Two dozen Goblins…another tribe. Dead gods, and there are [Traders] on the road. Where, exactly?”
“I hadn’t expected you so soon! But where are my manners? Magnolia Reinhart, at your service! You are the City Runner I’ve been expecting, yes?”
“Now, where did they put the seal? Normally, I’d leave this all up to my [Head Maid], Ressa, but I just knew it was my delivery. Hm…hmm…here!”
“Won’t you stay and have a glass? I would hate to send you on your way without a little reward.”
“Or Persua, that sallow bitch, tipped them off. Nah, nevermind. Even she doesn’t talk to Goblins.”
“That’s not good. We need to send a patrol out and hire a Bronze-rank team. Silver, maybe…you outran them, Miss? Did they have bows?”
“Then at least take this gift for your trouble. No, no! I insist.”
“Well, I suppose—but no, I don’t believe I need—well, at the moment no, but it would be a shame too—no. I suppose not.”
“If you can circle back this way, Miss—I’m Guardsman Wesle! Any help you can render the Watch would be greatly—”
