Chapter 1.57 H
A large expedition of Silver-rank adventurers, led by Yvlon Byres, enters the Ruins of Liscor. The teams form up using their specialized skills to navigate the dungeon, encountering both fresh and ancient undead.
Following Hendric's last-minute decision to back out of the expedition, Yvlon Byres takes overall command of the venture into the Ruins of Liscor. Demonstrating honorable leadership, she promises that the families of any fallen adventurers will receive their rightful share of the loot. Olesm Swifttail also joins the expedition to gain valuable experience for his class.
The combined adventuring teams enter the ruins and quickly fall into their tactical formations. The Horns of Hammerad, led by Calruz, and Kyrial's Vanguard, led by Gregor, take the frontline as the vanguard to handle close-combat and monster slaying. The Silver Spears provide defensive support, while Cervial leads the Flawless Flights to act as scouts and rear guards. Menes and the Circle of Reneë, an all-mage team, provide crucial magical support. They cast spells like Cleansing Wind to purify the stagnant air and Detect Magic to spot hidden arcane traps.
As the expedition descends deeper into the ruins, they encounter hostile zombies. The adventurers observe a disturbing detail: the undead forces are a mix of recently deceased adventurers and ancient Drakes in heavily rusted armor. This unnatural state implies that some form of powerful magical preservation is keeping the ancient corpses intact. Throughout the delve, Ceria Springwalker reflects on her life as a dedicated adventurer, viewing her dangerous profession simply as a means to fund her continued pursuit of magic.
After Hendric backs out, Yvlon Byres assumes leadership of the expedition and promises that the families of fallen adventurers will receive their cut of the loot.
