Also known as: Guardsman Relc, Senior Guardsman Relc, But Relc, Drake Guy, the Drake, the lizardman, The Drake
A guardsman referenced by a rookie as likely getting punishment duty for breaking windows.
Relc is described as a 'giant lizard' with a 'mouth full of sharp teeth' and clawed hands. He carries a spear which is covered in red blood during his appearance.
Mentioned by the guards on the wall as a member of the patrol who is currently on punishment detail for breaking windows.
A Drake Senior Guardsman, Relc accompanies his partner Klbkch to investigate the smoke from Erin's inn. His imposing appearance initially frightens her, but his friendly and boisterous personality soon puts her at ease. He shares a meal with her, explains the basics of leveling and classes, and expresses cultural pride in being a Drake, not a Lizardfolk. After leaving, he shows empathy for Erin's loneliness and plans to visit her again.
Appears in the Liscor Guard's barracks, eager to finish his shift and visit Erin for more pasta. He complains loudly when Captain Z orders them to break up a marketplace brawl, but ultimately follows his orders, though disappointed he won't get to visit the inn.
Referenced in Erin's internal monologue as someone who paid her two silver coins, which she uses as a benchmark to recognize Pisces is trying to scam her.
Relc, a Senior Guardsman, enters the inn with his partner Klbkch. He identifies Pisces as a wanted illusionist, attempts to arrest him, and provides Erin with information about the [Guardsman] class, his [Dangersense] skill, and the location of Liscor before leaving to hunt the escaped mage.
Returning to the inn, Relc ambushes and brutally fights Pisces. Driven by a deep hatred for [Necromancers], he prepares to execute Pisces on the spot but is stopped by Erin's declaration of her inn's independence. He leaves in a rage, unable to make the arrest.
Erin recalls that Relc showed her the direction of Liscor and mentions him as someone she knows in the city.
Initially seen gossiping about Erin and Humans with other guards, he inadvertently hurts her feelings. Feeling guilty, he follows her, rescues her from a Goblin ambush by killing two of them, and offers a sincere apology, helping her carry her heavy bag back to the inn.
Appears at the start of the chapter to 'apologize' to Erin by presenting her with the severed heads of two Goblins he killed. He is completely bewildered by her horrified reaction, becoming frustrated and angry before leaving.
After refusing to visit Erin, Relc is found drunk in a bar, telling a story about her. Klbkch confronts and beats him up for having killed two Goblins and provoking the attack on Erin's inn.
Relc appears briefly in the inn, shouting about his desire to kill all Goblins. Erin throws a knife past his head using her [Unerring Throw] skill to make him stop, and he leaves shortly after.
A Senior Guardsman who arrives at the market and tries to stop Erin's chess match. He warns her that she cannot win against a high-level [Tactician] like Olesm due to their class-based Skills.
Amazed by Erin's chess victory, Relc enthusiastically helps her get her money back from Lism by trashing the Drake's shop. His class is identified as [Guardsman].
“So, a lesser healing potion of no worth, huh? You know, I’ve never heard you lie like that.”
“A rogue [Necromancer] on the loose does nasty things. Even a low-level one can bring down villages if you give him enough dead bodies, and they level fast when that happens. Damn, I’m not going to be the one who let the next Az’kerash get away, Klb. We’re gonna have to hunt this guy down. If we can’t catch him today, I’ll have the Captain send out multiple patrols once we get back to the city. Erin, we have to go, but I think you’re safe if that guy didn’t do anything last time.”
“That’s what I think of your spells. I’m a former soldier of the 4th Wing of the Liscorian Army. I’ve killed more [Mages] than you have levels. Now, are you going to die quiet or will I have to pay for painting the walls red with your blood?”
“What a lonely girl.”
