Also known as: Senior Guardsman Klbkch, ant-man, ant-creature, Antinium, ant man, Klb, Senior Guardsman, the Slayer, Weird Ant, Senior Guard, the Antinium, Klb—Klbk?, Klb…Klb…the insect guy, Klbk, Klbkch of the Free Antinium
An Antinium Senior Guardsman in the city’s watch; arrives at Erin’s door and greets her.
Klbkch is an "ant man" of the Antinium species and is noted to have four hands.
Mentioned by the guards on the wall as a senior guardsman who will likely be part of the 'best patrol' sent to investigate the smoke from the inn.
An Antinium Senior Guardsman, Klbkch is the first to greet Erin, inadvertently scaring her. He is more formal and stoic than his partner Relc. During their meal, he identifies Erin's hand wound as being caused by poison and uses a valuable, special-issue healing potion to cure it instantly. He agrees with Relc to visit Erin again, suggesting they can make it part of their official duties.
Appears in the Liscor Guard's barracks, diligently doing paperwork. He is ready to go with Relc to visit Erin, but they are interrupted by Captain Z and assigned to deal with a brawl. He soberly reminds Relc of all the duties that will prevent them from visiting the inn that night.
Klbkch, an Antinium Senior Guardsman, accompanies Relc to the inn. He acts as a more formal and professional presence, confirms Pisces's guilt with a skill, assists in the arrest, and provides clarification on various topics before leaving with Relc to pursue Pisces.
Klbkch assists Relc in capturing Pisces, fighting with four blades. When Erin challenges their authority, he consults a handbook and ultimately confirms that her inn is legally outside their jurisdiction, forcing Relc to stand down. He leaves politely after apologizing for the damage.
Erin recalls that Klbkch traveled with Relc and mentions him to the gate guard.
Referenced by Relc as his partner in tracking the [Necromancer] and as someone whose dagger-flipping skills he envies.
The chapter primarily follows Klbkch as he decides to check on Erin Solstice. He discovers her near death, saves her with a healing potion, and has a lengthy conversation with her about the world's system of classes and levels. He then returns to Liscor, attacks his partner Relc for provoking the Goblins, and resolves to report his findings about the unique human to his Queen.
Klbkch briefly visits Erin to check on her well-being, but leaves when she is unresponsive. It is mentioned that he fixed her inn's door and put away her shopping ingredients.
At the start of the chapter, a note from Klbkch informs Erin of her bounty reward. He later appears with Relc at the market to caution Erin against her wager with Lism, though he is more polite in his approach.
Klbkch is impressed by Erin's victory and helps her secure her winnings by threatening Lism with a tax investigation. He shows a keen interest in playing chess with her and cleverly helps her avoid difficult questions about her origins.
“I will endeavor not to in the future.”
“I feel I must mention that you, personally, cannot breathe fire, Relc.”
“All those that Think—Feel. From Feeling do we Act. It is in Action that we Level. All those who Think have a Class. And it is in that Class which we find destiny.”
“Many clues lead me to this conclusion. Your curiosity about levels and classes, your mysterious arrival, and this ‘Michigan,’ which is no nation recorded in any book or map. But most of all, it was this last moment. No Human would weep for a Goblin.”
