A young woman named Erin Solstice, mysteriously transported to a new world, finds refuge from a storm in an abandoned building called The Wandering Inn. After cleaning the dusty common room to make it habitable, she unexpectedly gains the [Innkeeper] class and two basic skills.
Driven by hunger, Erin Solstice ventures out of the inn, survives an attack by a Rock Crab, and finds mysterious fruit. Meanwhile, the Dragon whose lair she appeared in flees in terror, eventually concluding her arrival was a random accident.
Driven by hunger, Erin Solstice discovers an orchard of edible fruit but is quickly chased back to The Wandering Inn by a group of Goblins. She is forced to defend herself and the inn, killing all seven attackers and leveling up as an [Innkeeper] before collapsing from her injuries.
Desperate for food and water, Erin Solstice cleans the inn and discovers a new skill. After finding a stream, she is attacked by a large fish, which she manages to kill, but then severely injures her hand while trying to prepare it.
Erin Solstice discovers a magically preserved pantry but accidentally breaks the spell, causing the food to rot. She then realizes Mr. Skeleton is missing and is ambushed by a Goblin, which she manages to defeat, all while being watched by other unseen figures.
Erin Solstice begins cleaning the abandoned inn, dealing with dangerous local wildlife and succeeding in starting a fire. She flips the inn's sign to 'Open', which attracts the attention of city guards, and the chapter ends with the arrival of a giant, talking insect.
Two guardsmen, a Drake named Relc and an Antinium named Klbkch, investigate smoke coming from The Wandering Inn and meet its new occupant, Erin Solstice. After a tense introduction, Klbkch heals Erin's dangerously infected hand with a potion. Later that night, Erin levels up her [Innkeeper] class and gains a new skill.

During an unnatural rainstorm, a strange mage named Pisces seeks shelter at The Wandering Inn. The guards Relc and Klbkch arrive shortly after, identify Pisces as a wanted Necromancer, and attempt to arrest him before he escapes using an illusion spell.
The city guards Relc and Klbkch confront and capture the fugitive mage Pisces inside The Wandering Inn. Just as Relc is about to kill him, Erin Solstice intervenes, invoking her inn's legal independence to save Pisces's life. After the guards are forced to leave, Erin promptly orders the mage out of her inn.
Desperate for supplies, Erin Solstice travels to the city of Liscor for the first time. After a hostile encounter with a Gnoll adventurer gets her thrown out of the Adventurer's Guild, she meets a recently fired Drake barmaid named Drassi.
Erin travels to Liscor for supplies but is swindled by a prejudiced Drake merchant and hurt by Relc's comments about humans. On her way home, she is ambushed by Goblins, only to be rescued by a repentant Relc, an act which prompts the Goblin Chieftain to seek revenge.
Relc attempts to solve Erin's Goblin problem by delivering two severed heads, which horrifies her. After she buries the bodies, the vengeful Goblin Chieftain marks her for death. Trapped in her inn, Erin's despair turns into a cold resolve to fight as the Chieftain breaks down her door.
The Goblin Chieftain breaks into The Wandering Inn and brutally attacks Erin Solstice. In a desperate fight for her life, Erin uses a pot of boiling oil to kill the chieftain, sustaining life-threatening injuries in the process.
