Scenestitching...
Also known as: lizards, giant lizards, reptilian, Drakes
A sapient reptilian species dominant in regions south of Liscor, generally unfriendly to Humans.
Drakes are revealed to have superior eyesight to Humans, able to see details of the city of Liscor from a distance that Erin cannot. Relc also mentions his scales get itchy when he's in danger, which is a non-Skill based sense. Drakes have scales in a variety of colors, including green, blue, yellow, orange, and black, usually with one dominant color and sometimes speckles. Selys is described as having scales as 'fair as light grass under sunlight'. They have claws and can have neck spines. They tend to elongate 's' and 'l' sounds when speaking.
The Drake species is introduced through the character Relc. Erin learns key details about them, including their relation to Dragons, their dislike of being confused with Lizardfolk, and the fact that some can breathe fire.
Mentioned as the species of Relc and Captain Z. Most of the guards in the barracks are Drakes.
Mentioned by Pisces as the species whose lands border the Floodplains to the south, explaining why Humans are not welcome in the area.
Represented by the major character Relc, Drakes are mentioned to have squabbling cities and superior eyesight compared to Humans. Relc's physical traits, such as scales, are also described.
Represented by Relc, whose physical strength and reptilian features (claws, scales, hissing) are prominent during the fight.
Drakes are a major species in Liscor, making up the majority of the population Erin sees. She interacts with several, including a grumpy guard, a gossipy barmaid, a manager, an angry wagon driver, and a helpful receptionist, getting a mixed impression of their attitudes.
As the dominant species in Liscor, their collective prejudice against Humans is a primary source of conflict for Erin. Multiple Drake characters, including Relc and Lism, drive key plot points.
Relc is a member of this species, described as a 'giant lizard'.
